Welcome to the Institute of Athletic Performance
Joey Greany works with hundreds of professional athletes each year to develop their athletic potential while reducing injury. Greany's Performance School is in a league of its own. The science based program focuses on all b
io-motor abilities which include: speed, power, strength, flexibility, mobility, agility, and balance. Most training programs isolate muscle groups. What is different about this program? All of the exercises are integrated and movement based. This means that more muscles and more energy systems are working at one time to produce movement. Therefore, this will increase your athletic ability and success on the field or court, while reducing the risk of injury. Coach Greany earned his Bachelors Degree in Physical Education at Martin Methodist College and his Masters Degree in Exercise Science at California University of Pennsylvania. He holds the prestige CSCS credential from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and PES from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Sports Nutrition
There is a lot of information regarding sports nutrition today. Sports nutrition has come a long way from the idea of just consuming large amounts of protein. It has become an exact science in the past few years. Athletes should be eating a well balanced diet, including protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water. Eating a variety of foods, of all different colors, frequently will maintain energy needs through out the day. The timing of these nutrients are just as important, if not more important. Athletes can have a great workout or spectacular game, but if the proper nutrients are not consumed post workout or game, the athlete can not fully maximize the full benefits. Consuming protein and carbohydrates together post workout, when muscles are insulin dependent, will boost growth and recovery of the muscle tissue.
Athletic Conditioning
With million of programs out there which one do you choose? Parent's coaches and athletes must choose a program that focus on all bio-motor abilities which include speed, power, strength, flexibility, mobility, agility, and balance. The program must be integrated and movement based. Performing exercise on fixed machines will not transfer over to the athletic field or court. However performing exercises on your feet in all planes of motion at different intensities will have an immediate transfer on sport performance.
